v-moda crossfade earphones: the harley-davidson of earphones

v-moda crossfade earphones: the harley-davidson of earphones: "

With its metal extension arms and partially metal cups, I think V-Moda’s upcoming Crossfade earphones are only for people with – or people who want to have – beefy necks. According to iLounge’s Jeremy Horwitz, the Crossfade delivers outrageous amounts of bass, so I guess your ears will have to man up too if you want to use this bad boy.

Damn these things are huge. Thankfully, the other parts are made of much lighter materials: the cable is fabric-wrapped, and the rest of the earphones are either covered in leather or fabric to soften them up. There are also other color schemes available for the Crossfade, with the chrome plates on the ear cups replaced by either red or black plates.

I like how the output end of the cable goes in to the jack at an angle rather than straight down; that way it’s harder for it to be yanked off of whatever device it’s attached to.

As you can see the case is molded to the shape of the earphones. Crossfade owners will probably make much use of the case, unless they want their spine to be crushed by the weight of the earphones. Just looking at this thing is starting to make my neck hurt.

Supposedly, the V-Moda Crossfade is already available for $200 (USD), although it’s still not on Amazon, nor can I find it V-Moda’s own website, yet.
